For 12 years, Kōkua Day has been one of Wahine Leaders of Hawaiʻi’s special traditions — a day when our sisterhood comes together to put our shared values of service, connection, and community into action.

For Kōkua Day 2026, WLH and MLH volunteers gathered at Linapuni Elementary and rolled up their sleeves to help prep and paint the school, creating a brighter and more welcoming space for the students, teachers, and staff.

The aloha extended well beyond the paintbrushes. Together, we raised $1,300 for Linapuni Elementary, donated 60 backpacks for their keiki, and treated the teachers to a bento lunch as a small expression of appreciation for all they do.

More than simply a volunteer day, Kōkua Day is an opportunity for us to reconnect with one another while making a meaningful difference in our community. Service has always been at the heart of Wahine Leaders of Hawaiʻi, and this annual tradition is a beautiful reminder that leadership is also reflected in how we show up for others.

Throughout the day, our volunteers worked side by side, sharing laughter, teamwork, and the spirit of aloha that makes this community so special.

We are deeply grateful to every volunteer and donor who gave their time, energy, and resources to make Kōkua Day 2026 possible.
